A Journey of Resilience: The Birth of CELEBRATE Diabetes
In 2023, Jae Oliver founded CELEBRATE Diabetes, inspired by a deeply personal journey. Diagnosed with type II diabetes, Jae’s story is one of resilience and transformation, driven by her experiences and the legacy of her mother, Donetta.
Donetta, also a diabetes patient, initially embraced lifestyle changes with determination. However, after retiring, she struggled with inactivity and a growing addiction to sweets, which sadly led to her passing in 2021. This loss profoundly affected Jae, who found herself on a similar path.
Facing her own diagnosis, Jae realized the urgent need for change. She channeled her grief and determination into creating CELEBRATE Diabetes, a beacon of hope for others facing similar challenges. The organization is dedicated to helping people with diabetes live fulfilling lives through education, support, and resources.
