Our Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) is designed from curriculum written by:
The curriculum is designed as an 8 week program. What makes our program unique, include guest speakers; such as healthcare providers, nutritionists, fitness professionals, & other valuable information.
As a non profit organization, we seek to become a Recognized Diabetes Self Management Education & Support Program by the American Diabetes Association. We are also working on becoming a recognized Diabetes Prevention Program from the Centers for Disease Control.
To meet the some of the requirements, we must provide a particular amount of teaching hours. As we work towards those required hours, we are providing content throughout the community as no cost.
We are aiming towards recognition as a Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program, from the Centers for Disease Control. The CDC's Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program (DPRP) recognizes organizations that offer the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) lifestyle change program.
As mentioned by the Arizona Department of Health Services (2025), "Community Health Workers are frontline public health workers who are trusted members or have a deep understanding of the communities they serve. They use their understanding of the people and cultures across Arizona to improve health, address social issues that can result in better health outcomes, reduce costs of care, and make the local health system more responsive to the needs of each community."
CELEBRATE Diabetes is currently fulfilling the requirements needed for certification in this area.
